This set is of the Museum of Natural History in Ann Arbor, and I thought it would be a really interesting set because of the unique window design and texture of the sides of the building. It was a bit of a struggle making sure I didn't get any students in it, as there were a lot sitting on benches outside, but I think I did a pretty good job. I especially like how the siding looks in the blueprint. It almost looks like leading lines of some kind.
Victoria
Her Majesty
Bleeding Ink
This set is of the law school on the University of Michigan campus, which my mom suggested taking a picture of because it's really old and elegant-looking, and she definitely wasn't wrong. I feel like this time of year is the best to take photos, because all of the leaves are yellowing and cast a warm light on everything, and coupled with the beautiful architecture of the school, it really is magical. The only real issue I had taking this picture was that I felt kind of awkward taking pictures with students walking through the entrance constantly. I felt a bit like a tourist.
Geometry
Spilled Paint
Color By Number
While driving downtown with my mom, we passed by this building, and I knew I had to take a picture of it. I'm not entirely sure what the building is used for, but the mural on the side is so vibrant and colorful, and at times almost looks three-dimensional. I did run into a few issues taking the photos however. The parking lot to the building was restricted access, so my mom had to drop me off on the street, and when I got over there, there was a big truck moving boxes out of the back door, as well as a big fenced off bit right in front of the building, which both obstructed my shots, but I think I was still able to get some good angles.
Taking Back
Brittle Lines
Time Locked in His Tower
I saw this building as we were driving around, and I really liked the sort of weird, run-down vibe to it, and I thought it would make an interesting photo. There wasn't a parking lot that was accessible, so my mom dropped me off on the street, and I circled around the sides of the building to get the various angles. There was a construction crew working in front of the building that day, but their equipment didn't obstruct any of my shots, so that was good. I especially like "Taking Back", with the contrast between the vibrant greens of the trees and grass around it and the dull gray of the building.
Inversion
Drowning Green
Nestled
While driving around the country, I spotted this house right on the side of the road. I'm almost positive it's abandoned, as there's a "No Trespassing" sign on the front door (it's not visible in the pictures) and it looks pretty rundown in general. It was definitely still on someone's property, though, so I had to be quick and careful not to actually step on their land. I really love all of these images, and I honestly hardly even upped the saturation during editing. That's just how the greenery looked, and it's absolutely beautiful, especially in the last picture.
