This first set is a picture of a bush with red berries I found. At first, it was difficult to find the right angle without the exposure from the sky completely blowing out the image, and during editing I had to mess with the lighting a little bit, but I think it turned out okay. I really liked the idea of the contrast between the red of the berries and the green of the leaves, and I think it really pops out. Because it wasn't a super overcast day when I took the picture, I think it lends really well to the lighting and makes the color of the greenery stand out a lot.
Waterlogged (paint daubs)
Afloat
When looking for a place to take some pictures, I stumbled on this lake with cattails lining the shore of it, and I really like cattails, and I thought that a shot looking through the tall grass into the lake would make a really interesting perspective. On the other side of the lake were a bunch of tall trees, and they were sort of at that time where the leaves were just starting to yellow, so it made a really pretty palette of greens, yellow, and the blue from the sky. It was a bit difficult getting the shot over the cattails because I'm short and couldn't really see over them, so I had to raise my phone up over my head, and even then, it was difficult to keep the framing level and not crooked, but I think I did a decent job.
Peeking Sun
Glowing Green (paint daubs)
While walking, the sun was beginning to set, and it was peeking through the leaves on the trees it a way that make the leaves seem to glow, which I though was really beautiful. It also seemed to saturate everything around us, and made the leaves really vibrant and the ground super rich and nice. It was a little hard to get the right angle so that the sun was shining in between the trees instead of right behind one, and also so that it wasn't just blinding the camera so you couldn't see anything else.
Brown Blades
Scribbled Earth (paint daubs)
While driving, we passed by this field, and something about it mixed with the lighting from the late afternoon sun made me want to take a picture of it, so I pulled over onto the side of the road and raised my phone up above my head (again, I am short) to get a good shot over the tall grass. It was getting a little overcast, so the sky isn't as vibrant as it was earlier in the day, and it also made the lighting a little duller, but I think I made it look a bit better with editing.
Rotting Life
Faery Ring Friends (paint daubs)
While walking I found these little mushrooms right outside of the footpath, and I really like mushrooms, so of course I immediately stopped to take a picture of them. It was a little difficult, though, because there was a bunch of branches in the way, and I couldn't get really close to them without risking accidentally uprooting them, which I didn't want to do. Because of the weird angle, I couldn't really see how the photo turned out until afterwards, but I think it looks okay, and I especially like the one on the left.
